Geoff Forrester (1946-2005) wrote on Indonesian politics and Indonesia's economy after he left the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 1996. He was the editor of two books on Indonesia. The Fall of Soeharto was first published in 1988 and later translated into Bahasa Indonesia. Post-Soeharto Indonesia: Renewal or Chaos? was published in 1998.
