Howard Bamsey is Adjunct Professor in the Regulatory Institutions Network at the Australian National University. He was Director General of the Global Green Growth Institute in 2013/2014. He has served as Special Adviser on Sustainable Development to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Special Adviser on Green Growth to AusAID. Earlier he was Australia’s Special Envoy on Climate Change, a Deputy Secretary in the Australian Public Service and CEO of the Australian Greenhouse Office. In his foreign service career, his positions included Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador for the Environment and Ambassador to the Netherlands.
