Matthew Cottee is a Research Associate in the Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Programme at IISS. Prior to joining the IISS, Matt worked in a variety of roles at King’s College London (KCL) focusing on non-proliferation and nuclear security. He was a visiting researcher at the Institute of Defence Studies in Oslo and took part in the Nuclear Scholars Initiative at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC. Matt recently completed a PhD in the Department of War Studies at KCL, exploring threat perceptions of nuclear terrorism and the evolution of the nuclear security regime. He holds an MA in International Relations from KCL and a first-class degree in Geography from University College London.
