You recently asked if anyone had a riposte for the Rolling Stone blog rave against ZDT. It was interesting but totally unsurprising that none of your regular expert contributors took up your invitation — but I certainly sympathise with such reticence.

However, here is Michael Wood in the London Review of Books with the most perceptive review I've seen of the movie. Art or entertainment, whatever it is, it isn't a documentary — and it sure as hell isn't a statement about the efficacy or morality of the use of torture in interrogation. That's for the viewer to ponder.
