Join Dr Michael Fullilove, Executive Director of the Lowy Institute, for an engaging lunchtime conversation on Australia’s place in the world with rising politicians Dr Jim Chalmers MP and Senator Linda Reynolds. 
 
Jim Chalmers has been the ALP Member for Rankin in the House of Representatives since the 2013 election. Prior to entering the house, he was the Executive Director of the Chifley Research Centre. He served as Chief of Staff to Treasurer Wayne Swan from 2010-2013. He is the author of Glory Daze (Melbourne University Publishing, 2013)
 
Senator Linda Reynolds CSC was also elected to the Parliament at the last election, representing the state of Western Australia. Senator Reynolds served in the Australian Army as a Reservist for 30 years, serving as a brigadier and adjutant general. She was also formerly the Deputy Director of the Federal Liberal Party of Australia and Chief of Staff to Senator Chris Ellison.

Dr Michael Fullilove is the Executive Director of the Lowy Institute for International Policy. He has been associated with the Lowy Institute since its establishment. He wrote the feasibility study for the Institute in 2002 and served as the Director of its Global Issues Program from 2003 to 2012. He has also worked as a lawyer, a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC, and an adviser to Prime Minister Paul Keating. He remains a Nonresident Senior Fellow at Brookings.
