The Marmalade Files has been described as a “banquet of bastardry”, “an imaginative romp through the dark underbelly of politics”, and “a ripping yarn…that confronts issues to do with power and leadership, our relations with China and the United States, and the changing face of the media and political reporting.” Come and join veteran political journalists Chris Uhlmann (ABC’s flagship current affairs program, 7.30) and Steve Lewis (News Ltd) for a literary roasting by the Hon. Julie Bishop, Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs. Steve Lewis and Chris Uhlmann are veteran, respected Walkley Award-winning political journalists with a combined 40 years of working at the blast furnace of Federal politics in Canberra – Lewis in print (News Ltd) and Uhlmann on television (ABC’s flagship current affairs program, 7.30). Now they have joined creative forces and written an imaginative romp through the underbelly of politics, a juicy thriller filled with intrigue, scandal and larger than life characters. Julie Bishop is the Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade. She was elected to the House of Representatives as the Member for Curtin in 1998. Julie previously served as a Cabinet Minister in the Coalition Government as Minister for Education, Science and Training and as the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Women's Issues. Prior to this, Julie was Minister for Ageing.
