In this presidential election year, America may look like it is tearing itself apart. But what if the national and international conversation is ignoring a locally driven American revival?

Join us to hear James Fallows discuss his March 2016 cover story for The Atlantic. Jim challenges the narrative of a country in decline and re-imagines the United States as an archipelago of start-ups and reinventions.

James Fallows is a national correspondent for The Atlantic magazine, where he has written some of its most important cover stories, including for the March 2016 issue, titled ‘Can America Put Itself Back Together?’. James has written for The Atlantic for more than 30 years. He was chief White House speechwriter for President Jimmy Carter, editor of US News & World Report, and a program designer at Microsoft. James served as The Atlantic’s China correspondent and his most recent book is China Airborne
