In a groundbreaking book, Solahudin sets out with rare clarity that Indonesia's current terrorist problems have a long and complex history. Based on a remarkable array of original sources, The Roots of Terrorism in Indonesia: from Darul Islam to Jema'ah Islamiyah (New South Publishing in association with the Lowy Institute) shows how the ideas and form of activism that led to the Bali Bombings in 2002 have a long and complex history, stretching back to the Darul Islam revolt in the 1950s. Join author Solahudin, a leading expert on Islamic extremism in Indonesia, in conversation with translator Dr Dave McRae (Lowy Institute).
