Anna Naupa is a Pacific policy and development specialist. She was recently the inaugural Associate Director of the Pacific Fusion Centre (2022-23), based in Port Vila, Vanuatu. The Pacific Fusion Centre was established to respond to the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders’ 2018 Boe Declaration on Regional Security, which calls for an expanded concept of security inclusive of human security.
Anna holds MAs in Geography and Public Administration from the University of Hawai’i, Manoa and Harvard University’s Kennedy School respectively. She has written on a range of topics including Pacific geopolitics and regionalism, sustainable development and human rights. The opinions expressed are her own.
