Anneliese Mcauliffe is a journalist who has worked across Asia and the Middle East for the past two decades for the BBC, Aljazeera, ABC and the Associated Press. She has worked extensively in both Indonesia and Australia.
Over the past decade and a half, she has covered multiple major international news stories, from 9/11 to the conflict in Afghanistan that followed, and from Baghdad during the insurgency to the aftermath of the Asian Tsunami in 2004. She has worked across the Middle East including in the aftermath of the US invasion of Iraq, covered the disputed Iranian presidential election in 2009 and the ‘Arab Spring’ in Libya, Tunisia, Yemen and Egypt.
