Rheinhard Sirait is a PhD candidate at the University of Western Australia, specialising in digital media, politics, activism, and popular culture, with a focus on societal shifts both in Indonesia and Timor-Leste. As the director of Studi Kultura Indonesia, a Jakarta-based research organisation, he leads cutting-edge research on the intersection of technology and social change. He has also lectured at Walailak University in Thailand and Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta, Indonesia. His work engages deeply with both Indonesian and Timor-Leste societies, offering insights into how social media shapes public discourse and activism in these dynamic regions. He can be reached here.
