Rommel Ong retired from the Philippine Navy with rank of rear admiral in 2019, with his last posting as its Vice Commander. He is currently affiliated with the Ateneo School of Government, which is part of one of the leading universities in Manila, as a Professor of Praxis and senior Research Fellow.
