Shuo Luan is a PhD scholar at the Department of Pacific Affairs of the Australian National University and a lecturer in Fijian language at the School of English and International Studies of Beijing Foreign Studies University. His research interests include framings of the Pacific Islands, China’s engagement with Pacific Island countries and the Fijian language.
