Dr Vigya Sharma is a Senior Research Fellow with the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining, part of the Sustainable Minerals Institute at the University of Queensland. As an engineer-turned-social scientist, Vigya’s research interests are interdisciplinary. She is currently examining energy transitions in several coal-dependent geographies, including India, China and Australia. She has worked on climate change impacts on the Mongolian mining and pastoralist industry and remains a keen observer of Mongolia’s role in the geopolitics of the global energy transition.
