Max Broad is Research Associate to the Executive Director of the Lowy Institute, Dr Michael Fullilove. He works closely with the Executive Director to provide research support for papers, books and speaking engagements, and to assist with dialogues and events.

Max joined the Institute from the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department where he worked on national security policy. He has previous experience at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Singapore, and the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Indonesia. Max has also worked as a Senior Research Assistant in the University of Queensland’s Faculty of Political Science and International Studies.

Max speaks Indonesian and French, and holds a Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland.
