Vale Ambassador Martin S. Indyk AM

Today at Bligh Street, we mourn Martin Indyk — a great diplomat, scholar and friend.

Few Australians have had such a large impact on the world, and for good.

Martin was a fine American, but he never lost his Australian accent or his Australian spirit. At heart, he remained a Sydney boy.

Martin was a founding Board member of the Lowy Institute, and his insights illuminated our Board meetings and events.

May his memory be a blessing.

Sir Frank Lowy AC on behalf of the Board and staff of the Lowy Institute
