André Leslie

André Leslie is a journalist based in Sydney. Since 2016, he’s worked for ABC’s TV News Channel, presenting sport and producing general news. Prior to that he spent nearly a decade at German broadcaster Deutsche Welle, working on the environment, globalisation, sport and general news desks. In 2012 he was part of a group of editorial trainees who won the Grimme Online award for a web special examining the GFC’s impact on Europe’s youth.

André has also worked as a commentator for Eurosport and as a desk editor for news agency dpa, where he also toured as a correspondent for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. He has one book to his name, “Batting for Berlin”, which documents the somewhat niche pastime of playing cricket in – and for – Germany. In his spare time André enjoys writing sports opinion pieces for Australian website, The Roar.
