Priya Pillai
Priya Pillai is an international lawyer and heads the Asia Justice Coalition secretariat. She previously spent many years in the Philippines, and has expertise in international justice, transitional justice, human rights, and humanitarian issues. With more than 20 years of legal experience, Priya has worked in international organisations such as the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) headquarters in Geneva, and with various national institutions. She writes regularly on international law, with contributions to The Washington Post, Al Jazeera, Rappler, Just Security, and as an editor and contributor to the international law blog, OpinioJuris. She has also been quoted on international justice issues by The Guardian, The Economist, The Atlantic, the Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post, among others.
Priya holds a PhD in international law and transitional justice from the Graduate Institute, Geneva; an LL.M from New York University; and a B.A.,LL.B. (Hons.) degree from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
