You might notice something different on The Interpreter today. We will post our usual mix of thought-provoking analysis that today will take you from Mynamar to Japan, and from what's making news in the Pacific to war crimes in the Middle East.
What will make it an exceptional day on the site is that all of these posts will be authored by women.
Warren Buffet once wrote, apropos of women in the workforce: 'We’ve seen what can be accomplished when we use 50 per cent of our human capacity. If you visualise what 100 per cent can do, you’ll join me as an unbridled optimist.'
We frequently have women writing for The Interpreter but it is not a 50-50 split. We're keen to tap into more of the capacity that we know is out there. Please email me at econnors@lowyinstitute.org if you have a hankering to write and think your expertise in a particular area of international policy may be a good match for The Interpeter.
Happy International Women's Day to all.
